As a nursery director for 13 years, I've seen lot of diaper bags! They run the whole spectrum... ginormous bags for the first time mom, pricey Coach bags for the uber-stylish mom, handmade bags for the crafty mom. Why, I've even seen the "throw the diapers in a grocery bag" variety. They all work, but the thing is that at some point all of these bags get a little cumbersome.
What if you're just running around the corner to grandma's to pick up the pacifier you left at her house? Or maybe to the grocery store for bread and milk. Do you really need that big bag? This simple pattern will show you how to make a clutch perfect for those short outings! Just slip in a pack of travel size wipes and a few diapers, and you're ready for a short jaunt to the library to pick up books. In the middle of potty training? Trade out the diapers for a few pull-ups or undies and a pair of pants, and you're ready to pick up the siblings from school.

Supplies Needed:
½ yard or 1 fat quarter main fabric (quilting cotton or cotton home décor weight fabric)
½ yard or 1 fat quarter lining/closure fabric (quilting cotton)
½ yard medium weight fusible interfacing (only if using quilting cotton for the main fabric)
matching or contrasting thread
7/8 inch squares of sew-in hook and loop tape (Velcro)
Optional: letter stamps, fabric ink pad, cotton twill tape, scrap of solid cotton fabric
