Well it may as well have been miles. I've never made that much bias tape before in my life. In actuality, it was only 23 yards. ONLY 23 yards of handmade bias tape! Lest you think I'm superwoman and did this while I was sick, let me set the record straight. I am NOT superwoman! I made the tape before I got sick. And yes, I'm feeling much better!
It went together so much faster than usual, thanks to this lovely continuous bias tape video tutorial. Great minds think alike, and Megan was on the same bias wavelength. Only she was a bit ahead of me. She found the tutorial and posted about it the day that I was going to search about how to do this. Perfect timing!
Anyway, you just have to watch the tutorial! It makes so much more sense than if you read directions on how to do this! Also, if you're going to make loads of bias tape (or even just a bit) I recommend one of these! (Or one of these if you've got $100 lying around and extra storage space in your craft closet...) Makes the folding/pressing so ever so much faster.
If you try your hand at this, let me give you a tip for cutting it... I dressed the circle of fabric onto my ironing board and cut it around and around in circles, pulling it as I went, so that I wouldn't cut through the other side of the fabric. I know myself! If this doesn't make sense to you, you'll understand what I mean when you view the video. So go watch it already!
I'll share what I used all that tape for next week, but from my pictures can you guess?
