Nothing is more adorable than HANDmade Valentines. So let's pull up our sleeves (literally) and get going!
Supplies: little hands, foam paint brush, paint, paper
Approximate cost: Under a dollar
Directions: Click here! Found on Bloesem Kids which has a ton more valentine ideas.
Suggestions:
- Have some wipes or wet paper towels handy for cleaning each hand immediately after stamping.
- Instead of dipping their hand in paint, which can get a little too much paint and make a gloppy looking heart, try using a foam paint brush and painting it onto their hand.
- If you've got younger children who can't seem to get their hand in the right shape, try this... After painting the side of one of their hands, have them hold your thumb. This will form their hand into the shape you need for stamping. Making sure that your thumb does not get in the way of the print, guide their hand down to the paper. Do the same thing with the other hand, guiding it to the desired position to make the heart shape. The picture above was done using this method with a two year old. It can be done!
- Use these for traditional Valentine cards or print them on fabric and make into pillows/totes.
I'd love to see your cutie little prints. Make sure to add a photo to our Kid's Craft Along Flickr group!
