While we were having our book fair last week, so much has happened on the crafting front...
- I now have 50 seahorses drying on my dining room table.
- Thirty-six bracelets are on their way to a craft show via a friend. I used slightly thicker bangles for this batch and I like them even better. I'll be adding some of these to the shop next week.
- I joined Artsy-Crafty Babe's Slow Summer Stitching group. Hand sewing, applique, embroidery... You can still join in! Lots of good stuff going on over there!
- My aquarium batik was featured on Craft Gossip and Paint Me Plaid all in one week! It's always exciting to be featured.
- Outgrown t-shirts have been cut into hand towel size for the next Craft Hope project. You don't even have to sew to get involved in this one! Just looking at these turtles will melt your heart, and our re-purposed t-shirts can help.
- Planning my blocks for Rainbow Around the Block - a quilting project for the recent Tennessee flood victims.
On the home front while all that crafting was going on...
- Landon (with Noah's help) got us as close to stitches as we've ever been. Without going into all the sordid details, lemme just give you the short version: boys, street, ball, brooms, hockey, Noah's high stick, Landon's eyebrow, gash, blood, phone calls to a PA, new skin, butterfly. Yep! I patched him up with advice from my PA friend. I must have done ok, because after seeing my work she doesn't even think it will scar.
- Washed the curtains in my room. Finally!
- The dog thought she needed to be let out at 4:30 AM three days in a row. After three nights of reconditioning, I'm happy to say she's back to staying in her bed the whole night through.
- All the laundry done, home cooked meals almost every night, and entertained on Saturday evening.
- Even a little purge.
I tell you all this because I am just as surprised as you are that I did all of this in one week. When the burst of energy comes you just have to go with it! Or maybe it was all that tea I drank that kept me wired...
