We were talking amongst "the syndicate" recently and I happened to mention subscribing to the RSS feeds of the blogs I enjoy reading on a regular basis. They asked, so I thought that maybe I would explain how it works to you as well. Keep in mind this is not a technical dissertation from a computer genius.
When I first started getting hooked on reading a few blogs I would save the address to each of them in my favorites section of my web browser. Then all I had to do was click on each of them to see if they had a new post. Ok, but then I read - who knows on whose blog - a mention of an RSS feed. I did a bit of checking and found out that this would be faster way of checking for new posts on my favorites.

If a blog offers an RSS feed, you can subscribe to their feed by clicking this sign, or as on my blog, just click "subscribe to this blog's feed" in the right hand column at the bottom. It will then pull up a feed of that blog and allow you to add it to your Common Feed List. Any new posts will be automatically downloaded to your computer and can be viewed by clicking on the star (favorites) and clicking the Feeds tab. This will bring up a list of the feeds you have subscribed to and will show if there is a post you have not previously viewed. This saves a lot of time clicking back and forth.
I'm sure there are tech gurus who could explain it better, but that's my version. If you can't get it to work, please feel free to comment with any questions about the how to.
